I would even include a wolf, a wolf, and damn the day I met you, in the best of the "ripe" verdone.
  • pozzo

one of the best Italian comedies of the 80s and undoubtedly Verdone's best film overall
Cathedral: Anniversary
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Well, nothing that interesting, aside from a precise schedule.
Cathedral: The Guessing Game
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Excessive, but highly enjoyable
Cathedral: Stained Glass Stories
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Prog with the attributes
Cathedral: In Memoriam
CD Audio I have it
Cathedral: Forest Of Equilibrium
CD Audio I have it ★★
In hindsight, and stripped of historical significance (?), this album is a half disaster, in my opinion, as well as that of the next one. With Carnival, it will be something else, at least for a moment.

2 stars? But this album has provided the coordinates for ALL Doom bands of the '90s and '00s. Perhaps you don't like Doom and, as a result, that explains your judgment :-)

I like doom, especially the more classic/Sabbathian kind! However, beyond its historical significance, this album has always seemed "tasteless" to me...

Can I share my thoughts? Forest has too much growl, Ethereal Mirror is the best in the discography, Carnival the worst. You got one out of three right. Another thing: "this album provided the coordinates for ALL the Doom bands of the 90s and 00s." Maybe the 90s (perhaps: the doom of the 90s was quite gothic, I think there are more My Dying Bride than Cathedral in the '90s), but for the 00s not at all: the references there are Sabbath, Pentagram, and Saint Vitus. Or maybe it’s easier to say that the reference is Holy Mountain, which incorporates the three bands mentioned earlier; we’re all happy, and especially if you don’t mention Sleep in a comment that discusses the bands that influenced today's doom, you’re clueless.

I would also add the album Gothic by Paradise Lost (the others are already something else).

Carnival is a copy-paste of Sabbath, so it can't be considered influential. It’s my favorite of theirs, despite being ultra-derivative.
