Of the three great albums by Yes, this one is the most gifted with the 5, yet I still take it, even if I find it less spontaneous than "The Yes Album" and less cohesive compared to "Close to the Edge." With Wakeman joining on keyboards, something changes and it shows—in the sounds, in the style, in the attitude. However, the tracks are magnificent, there's little to argue about; they were still Yes at the peak of their inspiration. I just have never understood the purpose of unnecessary fragments like We Have Heaven and the others...

Masterpiece. For Yes, the third in a row, probably the greatest, definitely the last. I wanted to say a few words about Bill Bruford, the sharpest in the group: realizing that after this grand album Yes could only go down (they went down too far, though...) he joined the newly reborn and completely revolutionized (in line-up and style) phoenix of Robert Fripp, leveling up and becoming a cornerstone of all the band's incarnations up until the '90s, not stupid at all.

How much I love this album. We're in the realm of a masterpiece, and I'm particularly fond of it, but even setting that aside, it's still a gorgeous record, the first hit for the band after two immature albums and peak of their career alongside the two that followed. This album damn is fun (why not), energetic, inspired, there's not a dull moment; it will only take two years before they start to mess things up, but when I listen to this album it's always a delight. The band is at the height of their power.

    I have never particularly loved the band, although I acknowledge their importance; upon reading your definition, I dug out the album, forgotten for at least ten years, and listening to it gave me chills; nothing else to report... very, very good.
