An absolute milestone of the Crime genre. A stunning Gene Hackman, in a truly beautiful film. The ending is simply fantastic; just for that, an extra half point for the film that reaches 5 stars. Friedkin directs his masterpiece, a film that will inspire nearly all directors who wish to tackle a Crime story. Beautiful.

Interesting parallel project Gira/Jarboe, probably the most melodic and accessible thing they've ever done, with The Burning World. Not a masterpiece, but great stuff nonetheless, with several beautiful tracks and the continuous exchange of voices from Jarboe to Gira from piece to piece is spine-tingling. Ah "Red Rose," if you listen to it at night, alone, in the dark, you’ll shit yourself.
