Pixies: Surfer Rosa
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
one of my favorite records, the tracks by mrs. John Murphy (Kim Deal) leave a mark. for my tastes, better than doolittle

How can I not agree with you, even if I place the most reflective "Doolittle" on the same sublime level; among other things, Mrs. John Murphy will celebrate her 53rd birthday on June 10th!!! Best wishes to the bassist then...

with "Come On Pilgrim" tacked on at the end in the latest edition, it’s their absolute best. I understand that many (right, hyhy?:D) get mad hearing them lumped together because rightly so, Come On Pilgrim holds enormous value even on its own. But it is what it is; I’ve always listened to them together, not knowing which tracks belonged to which, so for me, it will always be one single album—the best of the little people, indeed (I remember I bought it along with Daydream Nation; never was there a better pairing of albums).

among other things, one of my favorite albums for me as well, in the top ten, I would say

I also have the edition with "come on pilgrim." By the way, I never knew the two tracklists, so I listen to everything in order. Or rather: I used to listen, because I know it by heart. It's been collecting dust for 6/7 years, maybe more; it's almost time to enjoy it/them again.

Well, you’re happy to include me like that, poor EP :D Just kidding, I have some like that too, only I know the tracklists and I either listen to one or the other ;) Surfer Rosa-Daydream Nation, a mind-blowing 1988, what a double whammy...

Have you never listened to them together, hyhy? You know, I didn’t realize that Surfer Rosa and Daydream Nation were released in the same year, wow!

So Psychopathia, you understand me well, it's always been a single banger for you too.

No, different albums, different listens :) I also listen to particularly long double or triple live albums in installments, but that's a different story. Yeah, same year, two absolute masterpieces.

I’ve also reevaluated Daydream lately; before it was "just" an amazing album, now I consider it a masterpiece just like the previous four.

Well, for me, Daydream Nation has always been their absolute peak.

I know. If I have to choose, I pick the first two, but the first five are all on the same level. Just slightly after Washing Machine, but then there are at least another five nice albums by S.Y.

I would say dirty (recently re-evaluated by me) washing machine, goo, murray street, and the underrated (for me) sonic nurse.

If we swap Sonic Nurse with Ghost & Flowers, I completely agree. I really like "Goo," it's just one of those albums that finds itself up against unbeatable giants, poor thing. But the '90s and early '00s for Sonic were still pretty good. And that's it, we’re just discovering hot water here :D

Picked up a month ago on vinyl. There's no debate about its beauty, but for me, it’s slightly inferior to Doolittle.

an album with a bit more ambition compared to its contemporaries. Duel is a great track, the anthem of my childhood. 3.5 rounded up.

Among the stacks of vinyls I’ve never heard, back when I was in diapers, I know the right single because they play the video every now and then. If I’m not mistaken, it was produced by the guy from the Buggles, who also produced the debut of Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
