A splendid piece (Inside and out is among my favorite tracks from the four-piece era) and two insipid ones. The hinge between one way of composing and another, between the desire to architect complex structures and the wish for an easy piece (even when it’s only seemingly so: read Turn it on again).

    I can't appreciate them, and I'm easy to please! But from ...And Then There Were Three… onward, apart from a few things, I find them terrible... I prefer Phil Collins solo (I'm not joking).

    I prefer Face Value to ...And then there were three..., but I prefer the worst album by Genesis to all the others by Phil (maybe I would save But Seriously).
