Pfm doesn't have a singer... Di Cioccio trying to pay tribute to De André is pathetic, plus he's a hopeless frontman. But when they play, hats off!

The fact that Di Cioccio is not a singer may be acceptable, but calling him a failed frontman is just not right...because in reality he was the first Italian frontman. No one posed like he did live, before him...watch some videos of PFM live in the early '80s.

I'm sorry, I love PFM but he is annoying in the role.

I agree, extraordinary musicians (and also Milan fans) but they would have needed a real frontman. DiCioccio is a great drummer but he is not Phil Collins.

I wanted to go see this live in Turin. Would you advise against it?

the PFM is always recommended....if they perform the De Andre repertoire, no!

Of course they are strong, this PermeatainFornatadiMattoni.
Masterpiece. Since the release of this album, Italian music will never be the same.

As already mentioned in the dsalva listening, I have always liked this album, even if just in passing; I don’t understand the not-so-positive reviews. It’s played and sung beautifully, with original lyrics, nice atmospheres, and the cover is spot on.

What can I say... I consider it the transitional album between the PFM that I loved and the band that, from Passpartù onwards, has somewhat "disappointed" me... an album that has never truly entered my heart.

In my judgment, it is biased, more biased than it can be.

I don't have a good relationship with Procol (just like with the Moody Blues); those 2 or 3 I listened to drove me away from all the others... like this one, in fact. What does this have to offer to give them another chance?
  • dsalva

I'm not claiming to be an expert on Procol, but I can tell you that in my opinion this album has few traces of the typical symphonic prog of the band, despite some decidedly rock pieces... and after "Home," I don't think there's any rush to look for their albums, you know what I mean?

Alright, I'll pass it along on the tube as soon as possible. If it weren't for you, the Procol would have been a closed and definitively archived topic for me. :-)

I would only save the solo (truly incredible) from You don't fool me. I don't even think I've listened to the rest completely, but just a few seconds of Too much love will kill you are enough for me to recreate Pollock on the walls of my house out of sheer splashes of vomit. Who knows, it could become a profitable profession, even if I don't believe it's pro-fic, despite the oft-declaimed "charm of the artist."
