Beautiful system of ending it all... What a great system.
  • Who knows why then (the end of this group): it’s not that much has changed with the production directly under the name Steven Wilson... the music is the same (excellent psycho/pop/metal/progressive), the musicians accompanying him just as exquisite as they were in Porcupine.

You're right, in fact. It's not that the various Harrisons or Edwins had much influence on the Porcupine sound, but if we want to, the solo production perhaps explored more vintage atmospheres and less psychedelic ones.

A true act of love for progressive rock. The important thing is that Wilson and his mates have put so much of themselves into it, and you can feel it. Endorsed without ifs or buts.

Well, the entire discography flows beautifully, and then live they were, indeed, without ifs or buts.

Can you come out alive from the 80s??...of course you can!
Steve McQueen is something else, but over time I have reassessed this work, honest and pleasant, yet marred by glaring highs and lows.

Technically, they can't be disputed; their weak point, unfortunately, is always the voice.

An album that left me lukewarm, like a hot water bottle in the morning.

With Lanzetti, they had "turned a corner." Too bad it didn't last long.

    you are both right
Pfm doesn't have a singer... Di Cioccio trying to pay tribute to De André is pathetic, plus he's a hopeless frontman. But when they play, hats off!

The fact that Di Cioccio is not a singer may be acceptable, but calling him a failed frontman is just not right...because in reality he was the first Italian frontman. No one posed like he did live, before him...watch some videos of PFM live in the early '80s.

I'm sorry, I love PFM but he is annoying in the role.

I agree, extraordinary musicians (and also Milan fans) but they would have needed a real frontman. DiCioccio is a great drummer but he is not Phil Collins.

I wanted to go see this live in Turin. Would you advise against it?

the PFM is always recommended....if they perform the De Andre repertoire, no!

Of course they are strong, this PermeatainFornatadiMattoni.
Masterpiece. Since the release of this album, Italian music will never be the same.

As already mentioned in the dsalva listening, I have always liked this album, even if just in passing; I don’t understand the not-so-positive reviews. It’s played and sung beautifully, with original lyrics, nice atmospheres, and the cover is spot on.

What can I say... I consider it the transitional album between the PFM that I loved and the band that, from Passpartù onwards, has somewhat "disappointed" me... an album that has never truly entered my heart.
