Let’s say it wouldn’t be a 5, the album is somewhat uneven, the first part feels a bit rushed with leftover material from past sessions, rather simplistic lyrics... then come Like a Hurricane and Will to Love, and that’s more than enough for a full rating.

Unfortunately, this live of unreleased tracks happened to be released among absolute masterpieces, and so the 5 doesn't hold up. What a pity — in a different historical context, it would have received much greater appreciation!

    Perhaps it wouldn't reach the maximum vote, because "Tonight's the Night" and "On the Beach" reside in the Empyrean and are superior to it. However, it is a delightful anticipation of what for me is Nello's most fruitful biennium, at least in terms of artistic results, just as it was one of the driest and hardest periods in his personal life.

    I would also add the two previous ones, and I would extend the biennium to over five years, up to the more than decent Hawks & doves.

    Yes, one of the most successful. Much better than "Harvest," which I find a bit boring and whose glory I've always felt is exaggerated. I don't particularly love Neil Young, but I certainly don't hate him; in fact, five or six albums are in my collection.

At the time, it was regarded as a wasted effort to close the Geffen chapter and was excessively criticized; in my opinion, it is a work that is more than decent, containing all the characteristic elements of Neil Young's musical production. The only note is a somewhat forced use of synthesizers and electronics, which clash a bit with the Crazy Horse sound.
