absolutely honest record, a journey to conquer America in a weave of classic rock threads, folk r&b... from Elvis to U2, covers, and live!

A truly astonishing pile of crap. Dance, electronic mixed with the delusion of omnipotence of a band that has become unsettling. The album could even be rated a 2, but the shit smelled strong.

Think of it as you will. But remember that tracks like "Mofo" and "Discothèque" are a critique of the void of young people or adults incapable of maturing, not just dance tracks. One must listen to the lyrics and the irony. Anyway...

Maximum respect for your positions, but for me Bono and company are something else, and they have meant so much to me... personally disappointed by Pop and whatever will come next...

You can glimpse a certain prejudice between the lines, oh dear... But I understand you, because like De..Marga you are a nostalgic, and it's hard to witness such radical changes (which I believe are a merit in themselves). I'm also very critical, for example, of stuff like "City of Blinding Lights" or "Invisible," but there's also some good in the last years. The lyrics have even improved in terms of originality. And the music is not inferior to that of the early years, up to "The Joshua Tree," of course excluding it. Aside from the two songs mentioned from "Pop," which are satirical about the club scene, this album has the fluctuating "Gone," whose weak point is the bridge (Bono does some of those himself, I'm convinced, and they always suck; see, for example: "Peace on Earth," in the following album), "Staring at the Sun," which should appeal to nostalgics as well, and the corrosive "Miami" (about the decay observed precisely in Miami) and "Playboy Mansion" (also ironic about the state of things). Then I don't think the eccentric "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" and even "Wake Up...," which closes the album, so metallic and suddenly floating, could be that bad. For me, the weak track is "If God...": this one truly lacks impact, it has nothing. See you next time!
