Listening to it again after some time, unfortunately, the feeling of a somewhat subdued album still lingers. However, I can't deny that the Purple at least deserve a passing grade (at least until it becomes impossible to deny the evidence) even here. There are still great moments, albeit sporadically ("STRANGEWAYS" among my favorites, an excellent tour de force).

sorry but here they are truly indefensible, low-grade rehashed AOR that one rarely has the misfortune to subject the ears to torture, perhaps the lowest point reached by the great Purple

Good, if not excellent, performance, although conceived, in my opinion, a bit hastily and therefore with some moments (at least lyrically) unresolved. If they had worked on it a bit more, IMHO, it could have resulted in, if not a masterpiece, at least a top-notch piece of work.

similarly to RELAYER (making of course the necessary proportions...) an album made too hastily, it definitely wouldn’t have had much more to offer anyway, but even here, if they had taken more time in the production, a decidedly better product would have come out, just for the record anyway. that 2 is at least equivalent to a 2.5 (for now...)
