Paul mccartney: Ram
Vinile I have it ★★★★
Never really loved old Macca. Except for this work of his released in the now Jurassic 1971... a collection of impeccable and scrappy pop songs... 4.5

And what do you say about the other solo cockroaches? (Well, basically John and George)

I absolutely save Lennon’s "Plastic Ono Band," great album, no doubts about it. But then, stop, for heaven's sake! From Harrison, I would save "All Things Must Pass"... too bad about the production. Damn Phil Spector.

"All Things Must Pass" is a great album for me too; it features people who, oh, were among the best.

Let’s say that Lennon and McCartney reached their peak between '65 and '70. In their solo careers, they shone with the reflected light of the Beatles era.

I agree. For me, the entire Beatles saga boils down to 2 albums: 'Magical Mystery Tour', which I find 20 times more beautiful than the sergeant's, and the white album, which is one of the coolest records ever, despite some silly bits like 'Obladì-Obladà'...

I appreciate almost everything by the Beatles between 1966 and 1970. "Magical Mystery Tour" is absolutely better than Sgt. Pepper.
Pavement: Crooked Rain Crooked Rain

Wonderful masterpiece of pure slackerism—A box full of imperfect wonders. And drunken ballads like "Stop Breathin" are the classic cherry on top.

Nothing to say. Between this, the first one, and the first EPs later reissued in a compilation, we're at masterpiece levels. The following albums are more thought-out, but I couldn't find any flaws; moreover, the tracks are definitely there. A practically perfect career.

I would like to point out the super-super-underrated "Terror Twilight", which has been too often relegated to the status of an ordinary record.

I quote on Terror Twilight. Even Brighten The Corners has some great tracks though.

Silas, you might as well shoot yourself now. Viceroy nailed your definition of Pavement; I would feel humiliated. That idiot Mac DeMarco...

Ecchenesò, you liked it not even a minute after the first comment up there. The little I've listened to DeMarco isn't even that bad, it's just that he really gets on my nerves in an incredible way.

Every now and then, a disk resurfaces that I had even forgotten I owned. Year 1993. Another meteor of the era, vanished into thin air after an album or so. Decent rock with a moderate edge and some 'southern' influences, with that unmistakable mood of 'Seattle Sound' dating it no later than 1995. 3.5. Now it goes back to rest in the attic of forgotten things...
PJ Harvey: 4-Track Demos
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
I like this more than "Rid Of Me". Rough and bare dirt noise-blues. And her... well. She's always been one of my favorite vocalists...

Basically, the demos, the embryonic versions that were later developed into "Rid Of Me"; with some unpublished tracks that add further value to the album. Great record and excellent recommendation Silas.

True, it's beautiful, better than Rid Of Me, which is a good album but I've always preferred the debut "Dry," the really cool one. And I'm only talking about the Pj Harvey Trio; then from 1995 to 1998, she released two incredible albums.

The same, dear HJ... "Dry" has always been perhaps my absolute favorite. Ser competes with the muddy and dark blues of "To Bring You My Love"...

When Genesis P-Orridge disbanded Throbbing Gristle, he created this project dedicated to strange sounds of all kinds; Barrettian chants sometimes emerge from the post-industrial chaos only to be sucked back into it, in a sort of magma between the industrial and a black mass complete with tortures and human/animal sacrifices. May Uncle Aleister be with you, Gen.

"Pebbles" was a little masterpiece for me. I bought this latest album, and it’s just as I imagined. Those fragments of melody that pulsed beneath the surface of chaos in "Pebbles" are almost entirely absent here, leaving only chaos. Off-key and out-of-time voices, various noises, out-of-tune guitars... captivating.

@gianluigi, that’s why I love him :-) He’s a true artist, one of the few today who really does whatever the hell he wants! He’s the real "independent" artist, not the Strokes, Killers, Tame Impala, and other nonsense..@Psycho...yeah, I’m quite the fetishist! I love art, flipping through booklets, touching the cover, opening a vinyl, etc. etc...
