If you love Punk and don't have this record, you absolutely need to get it. One of the greatest albums of the '80s, not just in the hardcore punk scene.

Folk songs in a precarious balance between dreaminess and mental illness. Skip Spence recorded it all in a single day, playing all the instruments, after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, where he was committed after attacking the members of his previous band (Moby Grape) with an axe while under the influence of too much LSD. Beautiful.

Oh... here we are!!!! how beautiful is this work? When great inspiration shortens the time of creation and the result is a total solipsistic masterpiece. Only a few so far have been able to accomplish this. Like Syd, "Skip" gave birth in no time at all without vomiting, a highly formalized pseudo-improvisation with no signs of weakness whatsoever. Everyone, everyone should have this little-known vintage work in their collection.

After that masterpiece of "God's Dick," this sort of commune of drugged-out hippies returns with an equally great work. Slightly more polished than the previous one, but just as acid and delirious, perhaps more "prog," whether consciously or not. Another milestone of German krautrock psychedelia.

"I prefer 'Phallus Dei' by a few thousandths more, but yes, two masterpieces. Absolutely!"

Likewise. I prefer "Phallus Dei" despite the fact that here we rise to unprecedented heights, one of the peaks of this wonderful (often forgotten) genre.

Among the coolest Hip-Hop albums released in the last decade, in the opinion of the writer. Here the beats become epileptic, fragmented, clearly in the Warp school. In fact, the album was released under Warp Records, the label that has produced amazing stuff like Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards Of Canada, and a good 80% of the coolest and most revolutionary electronic music of the last 25 years.
  • Too bad they didn’t sell a damn thing, got kicked out of Warp, and the next one came many years later, with them super depressed and without the groove of this. 2002 was more or less the year that Rap-Trendy kicked off, and they felt the consequences fully. If they had teamed up with El-P, the result would have been different.

Yeah, it's really a shame... I do remember, though, that not long ago you published a couple of Italian contemporary mc's that were quite good, but for one reason or another I didn't jot them down and now I can't recall which ones they were. They were people I didn't know, but really not bad at all, stuff that almost gives me hope again. I think one of them was like a very young Neapolitan guy.

Disc that I would take to the Moon. Chaotic beats and spastic fibrillations. Masterpiece.

Nice, yes, okay. But it doesn't compare to the two previous ones, which are among my favorites in all of electronic music.

The first 3 perfect ones, Incunabula, Amber, Tri Repeater++... then so many other interesting things like the 47-minute EP Move of Ten, the Peel Sessions (John knew what he was doing, right?) ... Excellent and mysterious Exai and also remarkable the subsequent EP L-event. Once I stumbled upon one of their mixes for a radio that lasted 14................................. ..... HOURS!!! :-o
