The Byrds: The Notorious Byrd Brothers
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
after the wild psychedelic seasons and fame, what remains? solitude and melancholy where psychedelia gives way to a dreamy and poetic country sound. Roger McGuinn's voice has always been beautiful, but here it’s spine-chilling. IMMENSE ALBUM

I agree beyond human comprehension. Some call it a "transitional album," for me it's an essential syncretic masterpiece. Want a quick idea of everything the Byrds played? Here we go.

I miss... the great group, for a memorable season.

I don't agree with defining this album as "country"; it’s psychedelic like (and in some cases more than) the others. They will land in country rock with the next one.

Maybe their best, although I love Sweet, but that’s already another chapter in the story of McGuinn and company...

Too bad about "Triad," though... "transitional album" huh? Who's the crazy one? This is absolutely on the podium of their best along with the previous two, three masterpieces to be delivered to history. I'm starting to reevaluate the totem of country-rock that came after this now. And the first two are great too. Damn, The Byrds, everyone commenting and no one applauding? Clap clap clap

One of my favorite groups, when I think about the quantity and quality of musicians/songwriters who have come from that place...

How can one disagree?? Immense disco and immense Byrds! Here in line are: artificial energy, goin' back, natural harmony, draft morning, wasn't born to follow... I mean, I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear... Masterpiece.

I don't know. My favorite by the Byrds. A masterpiece. Their most psychedelic and experimental work. It competes with the previous "Younger Than Yesterday"...

The best of the era, and this album lays the foundations for the brit pop to come, psychedelic and introspective.
