    Ornette Coleman would be needed.

..I know.. it’s just that I have little Ornette and also Parker.. I need to fill the gap as soon as possible.

As for Coleman, I doubt it will upset you if you like Out To Lunch. I also believe that A Shape of Jazz to Come is an excellent and very famous record, so I doubt you don’t know it. "Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation" is also beautiful, very dadaist, a manifesto of Free Jazz. But I suppose you know that one as well.

I would reverse the order of the podium, but I agree on the names, at least for what I know and understand about jazz (which is very little :D). I particularly love A Love Supreme, the album that made me appreciate jazz.

I share Felo's advice on Coleman's "Free Jazz." An absolute milestone of Free Jazz, a masterpiece of the highest caliber.

If you like Out To Lunch, you must like this. Eric Dolphy also plays in Free Jazz.

Braxton fits perfectly into this ranking: For Alto, 3 Compositions of New Jazz, or the most extreme of all, Saxophone Improvisations, Series F.

I don't have anything by Braxton... I'll listen... thanks for the advice.

Anyway, even though this ranking is very limited, it was useful for me to discover Charles Mingus...
