I'm in complete agreement on some (well, almost all in the top 15). I think Heat and Big Fish are a bit too high (they're great movies, especially Heat, but for example, of Burton’s films, I prefer three others over Big Fish). I finally watched The Funeral by Ferrara. A masterpiece, even better than Bad Lieutenant. King of New York is great too. What a fantastic director.

I will add more as they come to mind; for now, these are the ones to reference. Heat is virtually at the fourth, Big Fish in my opinion is the Burtonian summa, besides making me very emotional. The Funeral is stratospheric, see also The Addiction Hj.

The Funeral is stratospheric. Yes, I still miss The Addiction, which has a theme (vampirism combined with drug addiction) that attracts me terribly, genius. I'll watch it as soon as possible. Big Fish definitely moves you and is also a beautiful film, one of his best. However, I know it's cliché, I prefer Edoardo :) and Ed Wood. And Beetlejuice, which isn't the first time I've found myself adoring a more raw and spontaneous work by a director (think Scorsese-Mean Streets). One more thing. I was anxiously waiting for Dead Man to be in this ranking :)

Applause for The Age of Innocence. Even though for me it’s only sixth among Martino's films, and to say it’s a masterpiece, but Martino is Martino and he has done better :)

Dead Man could not be missing ;) The Age of Innocence, in my opinion, although it's a strong statement, is Scorsese's best film, undoubtedly the most complex and tormented, rich in meanings and suggestions. Maybe it's because I particularly love films set in the eighteenth or nineteenth century in general.

No no, I'm fine with it even if I didn't know you considered it the best. Technically speaking, it's practically a perfect film (in the '90s, Scorsese was at his peak in this regard, even though I still prefer him earlier), perfect direction, not a detail out of place, stunning sets (Ferretti), everything in its place. Strong then with an unassailable screenplay, beautiful cinematography, and three excellent performances. For me too, it's an absolutely great film without any doubt. Oh, but look, there's Django :D

I had so much fun watching Django. Oh, Waltz is a monster. Did you know he will star in the next Terry Gilliam film? I can’t wait.

Inevitably, I can't help but include almost every Tarantino film in the top 50 :D

Well, it's normal; I expected it. I've already added almost all the Kubrick ones ;)

It's obvious that the order gets jumbled after a while; it's not like I can prefer Planet Terror to Once Upon a Time in America. From Tarantino, I've included only my favorites, but we know I love them all almost equally. Let's just say I've listed the ones I watch most often (and Django).

Stuff that: if you forget the hyenas on the street it’s serious, if you prefer Rodriguez over the hyenas then you’re the one with the problem.

What if the order is scattered?
    • nes
      14 feb 13
Order? Who spoke of order? I was talking about deficiencies... congratulations on managing to find the hyenas under Rodriguez, by the way, seriously, how did you do it? And most importantly: where are they?

more than anything... remembering a title late is also understandable, but moving it to the right position in the ranking is a worldwide hassle

But why does nes say random things? Nes, I understood that you were referring to the absence of the Iene; my question was about your "if you prefer Rodriguez to the Iene, you’re serious" in the sense that if they added it under Rodriguez, maybe it’s because the order is mixed up. And I also think it should be added :)

You didn't say it wasn't complete...

I repeat: in the sense that if MAYBE she adds it, etc. If it ended like this, considering her love for Quentino, she could have even reached fifty and put it (Le Iene), maybe she will wrap it up another time, who knows :)

Then why spread it if at the beginning the author insists on including even the films that he couldn't find in the database and wants to let us know where they should be positioned? At least, I imagine that 1) the killer followed by 3)... and a 10)... must mean something.
