Well, let's say that bands like the Rolling Stones and T-Rex are far from hard rock, great choice with Van Halen, though!

I would have included Nazareth and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Iron Butterfly higher up! :)

Very nice ranking, although Stone and Bolan are not very hard.

The Stones have nothing to do with it.

A curiosity, is "Very 'Eavy... Very 'Umble" really your favorite by Uriah Heep? In my opinion, it's inferior to several of their albums, and anyway, "Salisbury" is their masterpiece.

The same goes for Nazareth and BOC; I don't think they are their best albums.

You should also change for the Scorpions and pick one between In Trance and Virgin Killer.

Alright, BOC can be acceptable too.

As far as I'm concerned, I approve the choice for the BOC (despite my new avatar :D)

  • Ah, but finally Faith you've changed your avatar too... even though it doesn't seem like the best :PP

For me, Salisbury is the masterpiece of Uriah Heep, but I think it's less hard rock than Very 'eavy...
As for Jethro Tull: their masterpiece (for me) is Thick as a Brick, but Aqualung is more hard rock...
As for The Who: their masterpiece (for me) is Who's Next, but Live at Leeds is harder...

You're right from this point of view, but then I would put "Look at Yourself." Obviously, it's just a personal opinion.

In my opinion, Nazareth's Hair of The Dog should be mentioned, just like Razamanaz.

(For the definition of Beach Boys) I'm sorry, but aren't they a bit overrated then? Anyway, Brian Wilson has produced works like Smile that would make any Beatles album envious (excluding Sgt. Peppers), and between the Beatles and the Beach Boys, there's no discussion: the Beach Boys invented the sound (from the early years to Pet Sounds, there was an incredible evolution), and the Beatles transported it to Europe. And anyway, if it hadn't been for the Beach Boys, the Beatles would still be at Please Please Me or Beatles for Sale.

Come on, felo, what are you saying? You're really going overboard, with all due respect for the Beach Boys, huh?! If you like the Beach Boys more, fine, but a little bit of objectivity wouldn't hurt. I already know how you'll respond, but still...

I express my opinion, so before the arrival of the Beatles, the Beach Boys were surfers, thus from the evolution of the Beach Boys, the Beatles also evolved.

To give Pet Sounds a 4 is truly madness; Pet Sounds is an emotional album about growth, representing the transition from a fleeting phase of life to adolescence, and thus the early experiences of youth, etc. The train in Caroline No symbolizes this transition. In which other Pop album had you ever heard English and French horns, ukuleles, baritone guitars, harpsichords, clarinets, theremins, bells, harps, string sections, and a dog's barking before Pet Sounds? Then there are the vocal harmonies of Mike Love and Carl Wilson, those perfect vocal melodies. No, a 4 just won't do.

Did you know that I Just Wasn't Made for These Times is considered the first electronic pop song due to the use of the Theremin, the oldest instrument for electronic music? Did you know?

you forgot the use of the flute too... anyway, I admit that pet sounds was a great album, very innovative and important for the evolution of pop rock... however, it's not my genre; listening to it didn't evoke anything in me, I'm indifferent towards the beach boys... how can I give a 5 to an album that doesn’t convey anything to me? maybe there's something strange about me or perhaps I'll like it more in the future, but as of now, I don't feel I can give a 5 to pet sounds, it's also a matter of principle!

The fact is that before Pet Sounds there was Rubber Soul. "I wasn't prepared for that unity. It felt like everything fit well together. Rubber Soul was a collection of songs... that somehow went together like no album ever produced, and I was very surprised. I said, 'Here. Now I've really been pushed to make a great album.'" (Brian Wilson)

"Rubber Soul broke the mold. It transported music to a completely new dimension" (Steve Winwood). However, Pet Sounds remains a great album.

Yes Polyrock, I know these things, but you can't compare Rubber Soul to Pet Sounds, Rock70, have you ever listened to Pet Sounds? Just out of curiosity.

Yes, I've listened to Pet Sounds! Otherwise, I wouldn't have said those things! Besides "Caroline No," "Sloop John B," and "God Only Knows" (correct me if I'm wrong...), I don't like the album that much...

The Who don't matter at all. AC/DC are the best of the whole group.
