I must say, though, that I really like that first place.

Thinking it over, and I turn it on, I reverse 2nd and 3rd place: last night I made 4 rankings on the fly, now I'm reworking them...

For the friendship that binds us for countless seconds, you could also swap 8° and 9°.

Great ranking! Similar to the one I made, but I didn't include The Who! Fede, but what about Queen?? :(

I don't really consider Queen to be hard rock, although at times they have been. In other rankings, I'll definitely include them; I grew up in my teenage years on a diet of Queen.

Me too :) anyway, in the 70s, at least until "Live Killer," I think they can be considered hard rock, even if not in the strictest sense :)

My problem with Uriah from the '70s, dear fedezan, is that I don't have a good relationship with their falsetto choruses; I prefer Heep from the '80s, I think.

I’m not a fan of the Scorpions, at least from what I’ve heard, in their heavier style; I only like a few ballads. But to be honest, I’ve never really delved into them... feel free to suggest a rock song to listen to and I’ll give it a try right away.

Fede, I recommend the Scorpions from the seventies if you haven't listened to them yet... they were completely different from those of the '80s, writing much more elaborate songs, thanks also to a guitar genius like Uli John Roth... here’s a link

More than a single track, I recommend the albums -Virgin Killer- or -Lovedrive- from the 70s. If you like hard rock, those are masterpieces.

Rocky, well Lovedrive is a great album but it's already more tied to the band's hard n'heavy period... Virgin Killer and In Trance are truly amazing... but Taken By Force and the live "Tokyo Tapes" are great too :)

For me, Scorpions' "In Trance" and "Virgin Killer" are the best; I don't know them completely either, but those are amazing.

I’ve listened to something on the Tube, and for now, it seems my prejudice was justified, but I always give myself the benefit of the doubt! We'll see if listening to one of the albums you mentioned changes my mind. Thanks for the tips, in the meantime.

You're welcome, Fede :) it's possible that the Scorpions from the Seventies might appeal to you more than those from the Eighties; I feel the same way.

I listened to In Trance: beautiful! Officially begins my discovery and reevaluation of the Scorpions (from my research, only from Fly to the Rainbow to Love at First Sting), thanks to your enthusiasm, Anders!

Fede, I really enjoyed Phenomenom and especially Lights Out! I will definitely revisit all of Ufo's production with Michael Schenker! ;)

I had no doubt, Stone, for those who are into hard rock, these are two cornerstones. Lights Out is incredibly diverse, with completely different tracks yet all catchy and well-crafted. Love to Love is a real surprise! From Phenomenon, I recommend paying close attention to "Space Child" among the many gems it contains: Mogg's voice and Schenker's guitar work here are spine-tingling..

I agree, after all Schenker's great touch is also elevated in songs like Try Me and Lipstick Trace, not to mention the more upbeat tracks.
