Rough as few Emerson, Lake & Palmer? But you must be really out of your mind, these guys had incredible technique and blended rock with classical music. Never heard of Art Rock?

Of course, they had impressive technique and the adjective "rough" isn't used in a negative tone. Perhaps you're forgetting the live shows they put on, complete with swords stuck in Emerson's synths at the end of the concert: surely any "refined" prog band would never have done such things :)

Of course they had impressive technique and the adjective "raw" is not used in a negative tone. Perhaps you forget the live shows they did, complete with swords stuck into Emerson's synths at the end of the concert: surely any "refined" prog band would never have done such things :)
