DNA

Last Live at CBGB's BertrandRussell

Well, the effect was bewildering: a cross between Derek Bailey, the most abstract early Einstürzende Neubauten, and the brevity of the Ramones.

The idea is this: Ikue Mori and Wright 'support' the pieces, making them minimally structured, while Lindsay tries to destroy it all with his cacophonic lyricism.

Listen to DNA’s Last Live at CBGB’s and dive into the raw energy of No Wave's wildest moment!

DNA

DNA were an American No Wave trio formed in New York City in 1978 by Arto Lindsay, Ikue Mori, and initially Robin Crutchfield (later replaced by Tim Wright). Known for abrasive guitar textures, fractured rhythms, and atonal vocals, they appeared on Brian Eno’s No New York, released the EP A Taste of DNA on Rough Trade, and disbanded in 1982. Archival sets include Last Live at CBGB's and DNA on DNA.
