THE REVIEW

This album kicks ass like few others... it is definitely one of the best releases of 2009, but of course, in Italy it went unnoticed since we are a country of dopes when it comes to metal (but it's nice to see how Iron Maiden are well-received with every new, crappy record they release!!!!!).

True old school thrash metal, Sodom, Destruction, and of course Venom as the major influences (the band's name is actually taken from the song by Cronos's band), "Nihilistic Vision" is a compendium of what extreme metal was in the '80s and beyond. The production is horrendously filthy and rotten, with the vocals and drums violently overshadowing the guitar backdrop. Every track, I repeat, every damn track on this CD is incredibly inspired and there isn't a single second where the band shows any signs of faltering. Try listening to the drum and bass intro of the opener "Into the Desolate Halls of Death" (after the multiple HAIL SATAN!! HAIL SATAN!!), your heads will start headbanging on their own... the lyrics are the usual satanic-anti-human-fuck everything broth, but I can assure you that the rhythm with which they are sung is fabulous... in fact, one of the strengths of the album is precisely the voice... no growl or scream, but just primitive grunts and Swedish drunkard choirs....

Now, I don't know what else to write, also because there's nothing more to add, drink a nice beer and blast this CD!! If you are true lovers of this type of metal, you will love it!!
