Dexter Gordon

Live at Carnegie Hall Caravan

Dexter Gordon recaptured a New York that was very different from the one he had left years before.

Another old Jazz warhorse will be part of the party, namely Johnny Griffin, someone who even ended up dying in Europe, and presented by Dexter as the 'European Sultan'.

Dive into Dexter Gordon's timeless live jazz and feel the energy of Carnegie Hall—listen now and experience jazz history!

You and Live at Carnegie Hall

Dexter Gordon

Dexter Gordon (American tenor saxophonist) emerged in the 1940s, helping shape bebop and hard bop with a big, lyrical tone and laid-back phrasing. After early work with Lionel Hampton and others, he hit a Blue Note stride in the 1960s and spent about 15 years in Europe, based in Paris and Copenhagen. He earned an Academy Award nomination for Round Midnight (1986) and died on April 25, 1990.
