New reissue for Der Sieg Des Lichtes Ist Des Lebens Heil!, the second and legendary album by Der Blutharsch. This is one of the cornerstone records of the martial-industrial sound originally released in 1998 also in a luxurious and ultra-limited box of 5 7” vinyls. There are no particular novelties in this CD version. The music continues to maintain its explosive charge intact. One can listen to old period songs (including the well-known and classic “Lili Marlene”), marches and military speeches, folk-noir songs, and dark symphonic and martial settings that immerse us in a grim and dark past for Europe. The tracks, as per Blutharsch tradition, have no titles. Albin Julius – who came from the great neo-folk The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud – was at the time a controversial figure due to the iconography of Der Blutharsch, which closely resembled that of totalitarian regimes like Nazism and Fascism. Today he has changed his skin – even the group's name has been extended to highlight the difference from the original group – and has become a sort of late psychedelic hippie. It seems that there is no longer any place for the old Der Blutharsch. Nonetheless, it continues to have a narrow but loyal following that has gained new adherents but surely lost many of the old followers along the way. The historical and artistic value of this Der Sieg Des Lichtes Ist Des Lebens Heil! cannot be denied, nor of the subsequent The Track Of The Hunted, The Pleasures Received In Pain, and Time Is Thee Enemy, small classics that evoke apocalyptic scenarios. An undeniably important group in the neo-folk and martial realm whose sound has gained many followers. The said the war is over but I don't believe it. No one told me it was over, no one that was in the truth told me it was over. All the liars with down the road said it was over but... no one that I knew that was telling me the truth said it was over. So I guess it's not over as far as I'm concerned.
