New album for the ever more prolific Albin Julius: the Austrian musician has long since left behind his martial-industrial past to embark on new paths that have increasingly led him towards a free-form psychedelia very sixties-oriented. The new work, titled Sucht And Ordnung, is a long acid and psychedelic session marked by improvisation and the most unrestrained creativity. Not always had the new version of Albin Julius convinced me, but on this occasion, the leader of Blutharsch has definitely hit the mark. The music flows fluidly and cathartically: we are literally projected into an astral journey beyond space and time towards unknown spacetime dimensions. It feels like traveling towards an inevitable catastrophe. Never before had Blutharsch ventured this far: in the second track, the commanding voice of Marthynna soars over a wall of ultra-distorted guitars of devastating power: from the mists, the ghost of the legendary Amon Düül II and the most acid Can seems to emerge. The music is a true trip and manages to reach unimaginable heights: it is psychedelic and fluid but, at the same time, powerful and hard, dragging the listener’s mind to imaginary places. The third and last track is a space-rock session with a pounding rhythm and a standout guitar while a very acid organ cuts the mind in two. This is pure psychedelia for cosmic travelers, and at times, Marthynna reminded me of Renate Knaup! Imagine much harder Amon Düül II, and you'll have an idea of the music contained in Sucht And Ordnung. I hadn't felt the same sensations since Phallus Dei!
