Canada never fails to meet expectations thanks to its musical scenes that span every genre.

A more current reality is the garage-punk of Montreal's Demon's Claws, who have reached their fifth album, Satan's Little Pet Pig, the follow-up to Live In Spring Branch Texas. It immediately highlights a groove strongly influenced by the garage tradition reflected in the names of the Sonics or the Music Machine.

The production work is essential, with deliberately unpolished mixing that reproduces a heavily distorted and ragged sound, a characteristic peculiar to this band. Unfortunately, the execution of the work doesn't leave much room for imagination due to a succession of pounding tracks that hardly manage to stand out from one another.

Ultimately, there are no new insights, but an album that manages to engage just the aficionados of the genre. Despite this, it must be acknowledged that there is an engaging and completely unconventional sound that, however, needs further maturation.
