AC/DC -If You Want Blood.. You've Got It
Bon Scott at his peak. Live powerful and assertive in every single moment. The versions of Whole Lotta Rosie and Let There Be Rock are nothing short of earth-shattering. Perfectly recorded. The best AC/DC album.

Control Denied -The Fragile Art Of Existence
Immediately, the sore note of an otherwise splendid album: that "falsetto" voice of Tim Aymar that I can’t seem to appreciate. It’s the last work where one can admire the musical artistry of the absolute genius that was Chuck Schuldiner; a technically flawless evolution of the last Death albums. Heavy-power metal played by musicians of a level I can’t quantify, it’s so immense. Long, intricate songs, like the opening track "Consumed" or the concluding title track... Sound testament... more

Premiata Forneria Marconi -Storia Di Un Minuto
I like it, but I don't feel like giving it top marks. I'm not crazy about "E' festa," and even in the rest of the album, there are parts that I like less from time to time. But of course, "La carrozza di Hans," "Impressioni di Settembre," and "Dove... Quando (parte II)" are great tracks. more
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso -Darwin!
Masterpiece. The opening suite is spectacular, but for me, the true pinnacle consists of the triptych "Cento mani e cento occhi," "750000 anni fa l'amore," and "Miserere alla storia." Chapeau. more
Mudhoney -Mudhoney
After making their debut the year before with the sulfurous mini LP "Superfuzz Bigmuff," in 1989 Mudhoney released their first self-titled full-length album; the musical coordinates perfectly blend Stooges-influenced hard rock, raw and distorted garage-punk, and twisted psychedelia. I only need to mention the destabilizing "Here Comes Sickness," so dense with abrasive sound, sharp as the guitars of the armed duo Mark Arm-Steve Turner. They would never reach such devastating peaks again. more

Jethro Tull -Thick As A Brick
Someone here may not agree, I know, but to me, the fifth album by Ian Anderson's band remains a masterpiece and certainly ranks among their best albums, the last at this level before a somewhat less inspired period (though not the absolute last masterpiece, there will be another...). The first of their two truly "Prog" albums but unlike the subsequent one, fresh and entertaining in both halves. Complex lyrics, somewhat obscure but excellent, with Anderson really at his peak. more
