"If you say Jamiroquai rocks, I say Sly rocks." more
One of the highest peaks of "Italian songwriting": 14 songs written with the heart on the sleeve, dripping with tears, loneliness, and failure. Gianni Marchetti's eclectic arrangements deserve at least a mention. more
Psychedelic trips and more more
Author, together with his "twin" Steve Turner, of that dirty and raw guitar sound in Mudhoney; with the addition of his caustic and raspy voice. A completely underground and unconventional figure...SUCK YOU DRY... more
Subjectively, it's the pinnacle of Cave's career.
Post scriptum: "Knockin' on Joe" is immense in its despair with no way out. more
Good singer, but that accent is unbearable. more
A great artist, a genius tormented by excess... now his ghost relentlessly haunts Keith Emerson. more
Let's start by saying that the rating is a 5-, because after all, there are a few minor tracks... However, our artists gift us pearls like "Rag Doll," "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)," "Angel," the title track, plus various highly enjoyable pieces like "Magic Touch," "Simoriah," "Heart Done Time"... The band maintained their inspiration at its peak even in subsequent releases, publishing two more gems like "Pump" and "Get a Grip." more
Definitely a more mature band on this album. The record is really well played and sung, but it lacks the "Mama Kin" of the situation, or "Dream On" ("Seasons Of Wither??) maybe... For this reason, I feel the debut remains slightly superior, but it's definitely a great album... more
If there's a Lynyrd album that I feel deserves a perfect score, it's "Pronounced". An exceptional debut, a handful of really great songs ("Poison Whiskey" is one of my favorites) and three masterpieces ("Tuesday's Gone," "Simple Man," and "Free Bird") blending Southern, Blues, and Rock'n roll. Beautiful, let's say a solid 4.5 rounded up. I couldn't find the "magic" of this album in the following ones, which, while still good, just don't match it. more
Great American singer-songwriter, among the most original of his generation. "American Gothic" is a masterpiece, but the other three are excellent as well. To be rediscovered. more
I listened to them for about a year ago, and I wasn't impressed at all. For now, I lean towards 3 political, but I might change my mind. more
Good job, but I prefer the springer. more
This man, in addition to having laid the foundations for all the Western music to come, composed divine music! more
The worst side of progressive. more
Title track with five stars. Then it drops significantly. Much better is Brain Salad Surgery, for me the absolute masterpiece of '70s prog! more
Tiresome like most of his albums. more
Talking about their most famous tracks, it’s certainly not sorcery to think they are valid. Commercial, perhaps, but at least they manage to be heard, unlike so many, many of their peers... more
