Luca Carboni -Senza titolo
Melodic, straightforward, intimate. A pleasant and easily understandable pop (especially from a lyrical point of view). The opener "Non finisce mica il mondo" is one of the many sound manifestos of Carboni, and the delicacy of "Per tutto il tempo" would bring a satisfied smile even to the most insensitive man on the planet. Generally nice, but at certain points truly fulfilling (as long as you can embrace the simplicity of the proposal). more
Iron Maiden -Somewhere In Time
Among the best chapters of Iron Maiden. Despite the startling impact due to the use of synths, it still manages to fully convince. An unprecedented blend of power and melody. The dynamic title track and the epic "Alexander the Great" are worth the purchase on their own! more
Soundgarden -Superunknown
A powerful and adrenaline-charged slice of grunge! more
Mötley Crüe -Dr. Feelgood
5 stars for life... No bullshit... more
Tim Buckley -Happy Sad
Super disco, bold yet thrilling, unmatched voice. Hats off. more
Tim Buckley -Lorca
A journey in that limbo that divides voice and magic. An album of overwhelming beauty, in a certain sense on par with Starsailor. more
Hüsker Dü -Warehouse: Songs and Stories
One of the most beautiful albums of the '80s. Not as daring as Zen Arcade, but with pop-rock tracks of overwhelming beauty (Ice Cold Ice, Standing In The Rain, Friend You've Got To Fall, and She's A Woman (And Now He's A Man)) above all. more
King Crimson -Islands
Formentera Lady, a gem of rare beauty, is a captivating title track. A great album. more
Rino Gaetano
The Reggae Assai!!! more
Tricarico
I don't even mind her pensive streak; it's a bit dazed. "Vita tranquilla" is a little gem. more
Joy Division -Unknown Pleasures
It's even more painful to talk about the debut of Joy Division a day before the fateful date of May 18th; those who know the band are well aware of the dramatic episode to which I am referring. It's the narcotic, cryptic voice of Ian that draws the listener into a record where music and words tell a story of discomfort and alienation; a chilling album that ends with the long, slow, and sorrowful litany of "I Remember Nothing." Nothing and no one has come close to their spectral sound...INTERZONE... more
Joe Pesci
One of the nicest and most talented actors! "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas," "Home Alone"... I wish I had a friend like him! more
Keef Hartley Band -Overdog
Having left Mayall's band (Crusade period), the great English drummer passionate about Native Americans forms his own band, reaching peaks with this album and the previous one, "The Time Is Near...". Rock, blues, funky, jazz, a lot of improvisation and excellent instrumental technique make this work a great and gritty piece, among the best in the genre... more
Bert Jansch -Bert Jansch / Jack Orion
I know very well his work with Pentangle, but I’m less familiar with his long solo career. This first album showcases a great instrumental and compositional technique, truly an excellent record. Now I understand where Kaukonen's guitar on the first Hot Tuna record comes from... more
Beppe Grillo
He has managed to cause more damage him and his army of comrades inside the parliament in 2 years than Berlusconi did in 20 years of government. more
Johnny Rotten
The worst side of John Lydon more
Orietta Berti
But why do certain "monsters" exist in Italian music? more
Peter Gabriel -Peter Gabriel IV
Ethnic and electronic, this is undoubtedly one of Gabriel's most successful works. The explosive percussion at the end of "The Rhythm of the Heat" gives you goosebumps, "Shock the Monkey" can make you jump out of your seat to dance around the room; and "Wallflower" is a stark and untainted sound poetry. Timeless and innovative! more
