I love this band and, in general, the whole Elephant 6 universe, but this record is, in my opinion, little more than mediocre. A 'bubblegum' album made up of very short songs, as is tradition for the band, with a particularly noisy vibe reminiscent of what could be the Pavement from their first album. Distorted guitars dominate along with a certain surf orientation in an album that is definitely catchy, but simply lacks those standout songs found in other releases from this band (and from the entire label, whose artists I always like to consider as a single package, a large and friendly collective). For me: a half misstep.
