Bloodhound Gang
Funny bastards swinging from metal and punk rock rhythms to disco sounds alluding to unrestrained sex. A must 5. more
Stephan Micus -Implosions
A record so light and innocent, that if you let yourself be carried away by it, it changes your life forever... more
Morphine -Yes
And boom. Hat trick, third masterpiece in a row for the Morphine... more
Tom Waits
The musical equivalent of a friend telling you stories on a cold night to lift your spirits. The ghost of Saturday night. more
Morphine -Cure For Pain
Perfect album, aggressive, dark, ruthless, shatters bones: too bad there's a certain "Good", otherwise it would be a true masterpiece of Morphine, damn how much I love them. more
Danny Carey
When you have listened to the drumming of "The Grudge," you will be able to talk about this monstrous drummer. more
King Crimson
The first album is legendary, then 4 good albums (with some peaks like Islands) and another absolute masterpiece (Red). After that, they haven’t inspired me much; I find a lot of technique and little empathy, maybe I’ll change my mind... more
Geddy Lee
As far as I'm concerned, this is God. more
Lou Reed -Berlin
Darkest album for Lou Reed, another masterpiece following the stunning "Transformer". The title track is of unparalleled suggestiveness... more
Guns N' Roses
Today I am something frankly difficult to propose. more
Robert Wyatt -Rock Bottom
A deep immersion into the depths of human consciousness. more
Slint -Spiderland
Absolutely fantastic album, no doubt about it. My favorite might be the opening track; it takes me from the very start into an absolutely dystopian dimension... more
Rainbow -rising
Ritchie Blackmore al suo meglio! more
David Bowie
If God really existed, He wouldn’t allow people to give David Bowie a 1 or a 2. more
Rush
And to think there are people who have the courage to criticize them....but bow down and be silent. more
Guns N' Roses
A bit of objectivity and a complete understanding of the matter is needed—meaning having listened to everything, having seen them live at the time, reading and listening to what has come out afterwards—
To summarize from my point of view, it says a lot about their aesthetic being quite tacky, especially Rose—yet in another era they would have been defined as glam, not tacky—plenty of drugs and success from nothing, which affects the media and the judgments: a great album and another valid one but ruined by being "double".
So much chaos and apparent superficiality comes out in hindsight... Let's say they chose the wrong decade; in the mid-70s, they would have been straaaaaaacool, now they seem like stracoglioni... A middle ground for me...
Whoever said that Dylan's version is horrible, I don't know what they heard; it's stunning, but taste is personal, of course. more
Björk
I stand corrected: good job, for Heaven's sake, but nothing so brilliant that it would make me lose my mind over her. more
Tool -Lateralus
The feeling one gets from listening to this album is the same as when solving an algebraic problem. You have to analyze it thoroughly to understand its greatness. A mammoth album, scientifically perfect. more
Tenhi -Maaäet
Hypnotic, esoteric, dreamlike. An ancestral and wonderful journey through a Lapland filled with fog and mysteries. more
Angelo Branduardi -Alla Fiera Dell'Est
Between absolute masterpieces ("The Tale of the Heron," "The Man and the Cloud," "The Funeral," but not only) and nonetheless enjoyable minor episodes, the delicate yet incredibly intense poetry of our work enchants and captivates, while the refined arrangements blending folk and jazz are a delight for the ear. more
