I note with sadness that few take the time to appreciate Glenn Hughes, what a shame... A great bassist, a unique voice, a stage animal. At just 17, he starts out as a protagonist in the underrated (in Europe) Trapeze, in the States for a three-year run, only behind Led Zeppelin in terms of followings, before landing, still very young, in the fabulous Mark III of Deep Purple. Then came the drugs, all possible crises, and the miracle he wanted, emerging from an endless tunnel and returning in the 2000s stronger and healthier—God, the second is obvious—than ever, a musician and above all a person respected by everyone in the scene, with collaborations among the most varied and illustrious. And the latest gem: an ironic, raw, and true autobiography as the character is. Great Glenn, you keep on moving. more
The first 3 arcs are undeniably among the masterpieces of world comics, but starting from the fourth, the rapid and inexorable descent into crap begins. The last arc, in particular, is among the ugliest and most ridiculous things I've ever read. more
