The duet "Anni amari" is beautiful, and both the ante and the post, including what I don't know about the Detergent "fatto uomo" in question, is a waste of time and clarity. more
For years, I had no doubts about assigning them the answer to the age-old question: "Beatles or Rolling?"
Then, listening, reading, and informing myself, I came to understand that for global importance, at least for me, the cockroaches prevail. Because they revolutionized music. But the Stones are just a few decimals behind, also for other merits. Not least their consistency and longevity. Besides their unmistakable style, a sort of trademark. It’s an overall judgment and surely biased. However, if you ask me even today which songs I like the most, or even which albums... The Stones prevail by more than a few decimals. ;) Out of 5, I give them a 4.5. more
"Irish Tour 1974" a brilliant album. Essential! more
The Genesis are essential and have had a host of good and not-so-good imitators. "Selling England by the pound" remains my favorite: a solid 10. However, the entire early era with the standard-GOLD lineup received my utmost attention, and even during the remaining years of the '70s with Collins on vocals, the band certainly didn’t disappoint; in fact, in some songs I personally prefer Collins' voice. Throughout this entire period, though, I give a perfect score. ...However, the average with the rest of the years that followed does get a bit lowered. ;) more
