The last true "rockstar" in history... more
Genesis, one of the most beautiful pages of progressive rock ever written by a group that was just starting out. Magnificent. more
A stunning album. Pyrotechnic compositions but never over the top, millimetric arrangements, performers with real chops, and a sound that's downright terrifying. Is there anything else you need? more
20 years of Gaucho, Fagen and Becker still as fresh as ever!! more

After contributing to the creation of Grindcore with the first part of "Scum" in Napalm Death, Mick Harris and Nick Bullen found themselves in the early nineties setting up the chilling creature Scorn. Nightmare Post-Grind; the first album Vae Solis is a journey, a fall into the vastness of dark hells spanning 75 minutes filled with suffocating industrial noise, samples, and stunning Ambient passages. The uninterrupted listening experience remains shocking even today. No peace, towards nothingness, towards the destruction of the human mind; it’s the 8 minutes of "On Ice" (a rather explicit title) that stands out as the most effective (s)brano, describing the unique approach of the English duo to sound material. They would never be able to replicate such chilling relentlessness again... SUCK AND EAT YOU... more
his best work. more
Masterpiece. When out of 8 tracks there isn't a second to waste and when at least 6 of these tracks, one after another, are all among the most representative and valuable pieces of the band, then we are facing a record of absolute worth. Here the sound becomes even heavier, more monolithic, but we also find the surprising gem that I believe very few expected from them at the time, namely "Planet Caravan." Then there’s a stunning opener like "War Pigs," the riff of "Iron Man," and my favorite from "Paranoid," which is "Electric Funeral" and its mind-bending, vomitous riff. Monolith. more
Too much useless noise aimed at covering up the ramblings that want to be intellectually "significant" but are just annoying and senseless, doing harm (...or worse) to what dozens of Italian bands have done before them. Insignificant. more
The Rocker Next Door more
Absolutely Zappa, no one like him more
A step below Plasteroid but with one of the most beautiful covers ever made, and a certain Galactica on 5 is out of the question. more
every now and then a pear of British folk is just what you need more
Let's forget about the '60s revivals, which were charming at first but then became tiresome; his solo albums were fascinating, original, and far from predictable, especially "Superivan" and "Urlo." And if he had avoided the antics from Big Brother, it would have definitely been for the best. more
Ridiculous actress, pointless character, classic example of a privileged individual who got lucky. more
Discovering Happiness more
too bad for the second half of the cd, their nonsense ruins the good stuff! more
I may be biased, but if a nearly 70-year-old man, suffering from cancer and just months away from his death, creates an album like "Blackstar," there’s no room for talk. more
If they had split up in the late '90s, we would remember them as a decent prog band. And indeed, Moore's departure hurt their sound more than a kick to the shins. The rating holds up until Falling Into Infinity (and partially Metropolis pt.2); afterward, they replaced them with lookalikes. more
