I'm sorry. Nature had bestowed upon him a great talent. That talent brought him money, fame, and success. Success slowly killed him. It's too easy today to say that a great artist has passed away. Too easy yesterday to think poorly of him. Too easy to judge people without ever having known them, without ever having looked them in the eye, without ever having spoken with them. His music never aligned with my tastes, but strangely I feel that I will miss him, and that must mean something.
