I recently discovered this artist, almost 10 years after his sudden departure, and from the first listen of "Lady Brown," I realized that this is the kind of music I want to make when I grow up. If today, after all these years, his music is being rediscovered by fans of the "lo-fi hip hop" genre, it's certainly not just because the artist died young, but because of the quality and innovation of his music.
