If he had played in a group that reached cult status like Virgin Prunes instead of a band with exaggerated worldwide success like U2, maybe today he would be more respected. In any case, he was a great guitarist, perhaps the only one of the four Dubliners to bring a bit of appeal and originality to a band that without him would have been just rhetoric and flamboyance.
