If Cobain were still alive, the various Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, and Alice In Chains would be considered much more than Nirvana. As for repetitiveness and musical incompetence, they're on par with AC/DC and Sex Pistols, not to mention the lyrics crafted specifically for faux angry radical chic adolescents. And let's face it, they've done NOTHING that the American underground of the late '80s, like Sonic Youth, Pixies, and others, hadn't already done, except make it palatable for Beavis and Butthead.
