john mclaughlin & shakti -natural elements
9/10 The most beautiful among the collaborations with Shakti, it combines virtuosity, spirituality, and enjoyment, the latter element somewhat lacking in the previous two albums that were a bit too lengthy. more
High Tide -High Tide
10/10 What can I say, is the most spectacular album of English prog enough? more
Elton Dean's Ninesense -Happy Daze + Oh for the Edge
8.5/10
Two splendid albums in the style of the Keith Tippett Group. Happy Daze is a must-have for all fans of Dean and Keith Tippett. more
Elton dean -silent knowledge
7.5
A beautiful album by Dean (from 1996) that alternates challenging passages with more enjoyable tracks like the splendid Gualchos. Domancich is, as always, sublime at the piano. more
Elton Dean -Just Us
7.5 Dean's debut album, dated 1971. An extremely enjoyable free jazz record, especially in the longer tracks like the opening "ooglenovastrome." It shows that, along with Wyatt, he is the most creative within the core of the Soft Machine in "Third." Hopper and Ratledge cannot match up. more
