Pink Floyd -The Wall DVD
A nice little movie, even more paranoid and delirious than the album it's based on (and even better). The animations are very beautiful and so are some effects. Still, it's far from being considered a masterpiece of cinema. more
Exene Cervenka -Running Sacred
those who haven't listened to it are very unfortunate. wonderful psych-folk more
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso -Io sono nato libero
A splendid and sadly realistic concept album about the desire for freedom, perfect from start to finish. Surely their most mature record. "Canto Nomade per un Prigioniero Politico," "La Città Sottile," and "Dopo... niente è più lo stesso" are exemplary. more
Guy de Maupassant
Have you ever read his mystery stories? They are metaphysically impressive. And Bel-Ami is a book that should be taught in schools to delve into the mediocrity of the average man... more
Eloy
Intense, deep, cosmic, lysergic... An enormous and underrated band... more
Bert Stern
Well: the history and myth of photography, Genius of the image. Even if in that shoot with Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn he really hit rock bottom (though I'm not a fan of Marilyn): a total disgrace, an abortion of art. more
Ascanio Celestini
an idiot who has found a way not to work... more
Godz
For the courage shown in recording albums without having the slightest idea of how to play an instrument or tune a guitar, they deserve to be awarded as the most troll-like group in history. And we can never thank ESP enough for bringing them into the recording studio. more
Overkill -I Hear Black
The first CD by Overkill that, in my opinion, doesn't quite make the grade (even if just barely). Too disjointed, "unnatural" compared to what the Americans had produced up to that point. It's like saying: a change that could be acceptable but seems not to be in the band's wheelhouse. Several tracks come off as forced and much less straightforward than in the past. As far as I'm concerned, "I Hear Black" is a slight misstep. 5.5/10 more
Daft Punk
Fans suck. Period. more
Os Mutantes -Mutantes
An album that overflows with madness and genius from every pore. A Brazilian tropicalia band completely off the rails and high on LSD. more
Overkill -Horrorscope
An album that connects to the frantic rhythms of the first two works, less "thought-out" than the previous (and essential) "The Years Of Decay." Nice but not amazing. It loses some punch, especially in the choruses. However, tracks like "Blood Money," "Thanx For Nothing," and "New Machine" outshine 99% of everything produced nowadays in the thrash scene. 7.5/10 more
Davide De Marinis
Ahahah, I got caught by Solletico when I went there in 1999 singing along to his unbearable hit in playback... But a question arises: after telling her she was too beautiful so many times... did he end up sleeping with her??? more
R.E.M. -Lifes Rich Pageant
At first listen, it left me indifferent. I was wrong. more
Vasco Rossi
Roc from open studio more
Nirvana -Nevermind
The scream of a child against the shitty system they have been suddenly thrown into. more
Bruce Springsteen
but it looks like massimo ceccherini, the same idiot expression...Andy Warhol more
Vasco Rossi
The first part wasn't bad at all, even believable in the role of the local rocker, but then... in 40 years of career, he has never become either a decent musician or a respectable songwriter. Shame on you, old drunkard, Fiasco Rossi! Isn't a blank page better than struggling and crapping out songs written and arranged by others, locked in a cage like a monkey at the zoo? more
Vinicio Capossela
to continue quoting Waits when talking about him means having only listened to Il Ballo di San Vito more
