I'll grant him Trainspotting, which I didn't even like the book (which, mind you, is a good 3 rungs MINIMUM above the film), I'll give a pass to The Millionaire, which is nice enough, but from there to winning 8 Oscars, there's quite a leap... but I certainly can't overlook embarrassing stuff like 28 Days or that piece of crap The Beach, absolutely not. more
