Negazione -Tutti Pazzi
These EPs are awesome. "Niente" and "Tutti pazzi" (especially the latter) are masterpieces. But the 1984 EP "Mucchio selvaggio" (which I don't have an original of) is even better; it sounds like crap and is even more insane. more
Alan McGee
this human being is the English music of the last 30 years. A legend has it that in '88 he threw Bobby Gillespie out of the offices of his "Creation" for wearing a Guns'n'Roses t-shirt. Many unforgettable pages of English rock have been written with his pen. more
Negazione
Extraordinary. Their EPs are among the most beautiful ever; I think of "Mucchio selvaggio" and "Condannati a morte nel vostro quieto vivere," but even "Tutti pazzi" makes a damn good impression. more

Listening to all those existentialist sermons about De André, Leonard Cohen, and Jacques Brrrrrel (with 150 evve fvanscesi), it felt like we were dealing with the Joni Mitchell of the new millennium. more

Caspar Brötzmann Massaker
I had at home some compilation CDs from this trio led by Caspar Brotzmann, regarded by many as an innovator of the guitar, which I always avoided. A huge mistake. Free noise that thrives on the strings of the leader's guitar, who occasionally indulges in a honestly unnecessary spoken-singing. A tremendous discovery. Caspar Brotzmann Massaker - Schlaf  more
The Cure
Simply one of the best bands of the '80s!! And to think that, at first glance, I couldn't stand them (Robert Smith in particular). Never trust first impressions! more
Pere Ubu
The quintessential pronk group. Dub Housing (perhaps) my favorite. more
Monster Magnet
Monumentale. Of course, if after Dopes they had only released Powertrip and Mastermind (which I give a passing grade because I'm nice), we would be talking about a discography that's truly impressive. But the three albums in between are nearly unbearable, with a few gems here and there that hint at how much they could be at another level. The new album 2013 SEEMS to be a return to the space rock of their early days... we'll see. more
