An album that, as derivative as it may seem from a certain perspective compared to the symphonic prog of the '70s, has to offer a technique and a touch worthy only of the finest musicians, qualities that make it unique in its genre. more
Another excellent album by Anathema, which continues in the sonic landscape of the previous album while expanding its acoustic dimension and more. more
A masterpiece by Anathema, at least recent ones, crystal-clear and emotionally charged to the highest levels, with melodies that touch the depths of the soul and a unique flavor. more
More colorful transitional album than the previous ones, offering sounds that are unique in Anathema's discography, also giving us some classics. more
The first true masterpiece of the English group that, as a pioneer of doom metal, moves towards profoundly different sounds, touching with this album the darkest and most depressive rock of their recent career. more
Second and final album of unreleased tracks by the American supergroup, generally less heavy than the previous one, more introspective and refined from a sound perspective. more
Further evolution from the cleaner yet still dark atmospheres of Eternity to more typically prog and bright sounds, without excluding melancholy in the process. more
'rtacci sua...(and not only hers) more
The masterpiece of the main project by the Dutch Arjen Anthony Lucassen, featuring a spectacular cast and a highly regarded concept. more
Great avant-prog band, Generations Sans Futur is the album I prefer. more
How can you not give them 5? more
Another great space rock group. more
Space rock with a kick more
The water is little and the duck doesn’t float!! more
You will find mud and corruption on your path. And you will feel the urge to lie down on the ground, to watch like in a movie the pigeons in flight. more
"Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" their masterpiece and Marriott was a great talent. more
The intent was probably a mix between messing around, serious boycotting, and ribbing. The result is a contemporary work of art, nothing more, nothing less. The first experiment of this kind within "commercial" music, outside of the avant-gardes. Unlistenable, thus perfect. If you like it, there's something wrong with you. No point in going on about it too much: it's a record of pure noise. more
Pure nonsense until around 2009, then too many idiots started to take themselves too seriously, believing they were gurus because of the points and the ridiculous orange badges. Hilarious categories like Religion and Spirituality, Gender Studies, Adolescence. Sometimes even Rock and Pop. more
I am not a fan of progressive by nature. For me, rock should be dirty and rebellious—a punch in the face, basically. But what these gentlemen have created in the album "Close to the Edge" is INCREDIBLE: a cascade of emotions every time; incredible virtuosities that are never self-serving; inspiration and creativity at levels that are never again even close to attainable. Therefore, hats off to that lineup from '72. more
