Thin White Rope
When I need to define the group of Guy Kyser, I just have to remember their superb double live album that concluded their important career; not to mention the five equally valid studio albums: torrential and concrete in their exhilarating musical proposal, which encompassed desert-rock, country, hints of psychedelia.....Epoch-making... more
Control Denied
Control Denied represents the project that Chuck Schuldiner formed alongside Death in the last part of his short earthly existence. A noteworthy group producing excellent Progressive metal, with power metal influences mainly due to the vocals of Tim Aymar; a technically formidable lineup... more
Dire Straits -On Every Street
The radiant musical career of Dire Straits comes to a close with their sixth studio album; a work that reflects the themes that Mark has skillfully gifted to us listeners, with his usual, wise, unique, wonderful guitar style, finely accompanied by fitting arrangements, never trivial and always capable of evoking deep emotions... and it is an emotion for me to think that we have reached the finish line... These have been important years... Thank you from the bottom of my heart. more
Cripple Bastards
People who give 1 to Cripple Bastards don't understand what Grindcore is. They have been able to hold their own against bands like Napalm Death or Nasum, producing gems: (the masterpiece) "Misantropo a Senso Unico," "Variante alla morte," "Desperately Insensitive," and "Nero In Metastasi." Dark, furious, stripped-down, and psychotic sound that assaults ears and mind. If some American band had done just 1/3 of all this, there would be thousands and thousands of idiots praising it. more
Primus -Suck On This
The musical story of Les, Larry, and Tim begins with a live album... and it's immediately "Psichedelic Polka" to use a definition provided by the bassist himself. Beyond the obvious beauty of the songs contained within, I like to start with the first thirty seconds of the album: the Californian guys welcome the audience with a version of "YYZ" by Rush, and their proverbial technique immediately clarifies some of their musical references; right after that, we embark on the adventure of fisherman John. more
George Harrison
The Beatle for those who don't love the Beatles... if pushed to the limit, they always saved him. more
Genesis -Genesis
2.5. Let's say about a two and a half, almost three. "Mama" and "Home by the Sea" (the first part, the second is a huge "meh") are two pretty pop songs (fine, beautiful) and Silver Rainbow is nice too. The rest is to be thrown away. All the other tracks not only suck but are also so insubstantial that they practically don't exist. The aggravating factor is "Illegal Alien," one of the most embarrassing things I've ever listened to. more
Frank Zappa
I have been wondering for a long time whether it is right for me to define Frank, and especially if I have the ability to avoid falling into the usual labels: he is the best, no he sucks, he is a demigod, indeed he is a full one, a musical genius, no an opportunist like few others, a jack-of-all-trades musically speaking, verbose and heterogeneous to the point of being tiresome, manic and precise, no pompous and cloying... etc... etc... I stop, I am not able to do it!!!!! more
Dire Straits -Alchemy
When I have to talk about "Alchemy," I like to highlight a detail that may not be given the proper consideration. I'm referring to the Deluxe Edition with the attached DVD, where you can clearly see how the band, throughout the long concert, always plays with a prominent smile, a certain sign of an innate pleasure in presenting such masterpieces in Music to the audience. One of the live albums that I consider to be particularly well-done and of exquisite impact for fans of the English group. more
Helmet
"Strap It On" and "Meantime" are the musical legacy that Helmet have left us; two albums short in duration but ferocious in impact through a noise-rock with Hardcore influences that leaves no survivors. Live, it's a staggering experience... with the auditory apparatus becoming "non-operational" for a few days!!!!!!!....to die unsung would really bring you down. more

Wes Anderson -Le avventure acquatiche di Steve Zissou
Wonderful scenery and Bill Murray over the top. A small original masterpiece (not for everyone) that I recommend without hesitation if you have never seen it. more
Graham Parker -Squeezing Out Sparks
"Sparkles" that dazzle, and a record that should not be missing from anyone's shelves. more
Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers -You're gonna get it!
It falls just short (but not by much) of the stellar debut two years earlier. Great songs - my favorite remains "Magnolia," although the rock'n'roll hits like "When The Time Comes" and "I Need To Know" make an impression. The melody and guitars of the Byrds in the punk era. more

Morbid Angel -Covenant
With their third album, Morbid Angel delivers their masterpiece. A bomb that crashes down upon you in just over forty minutes with a power few can match in the history of Death Metal; led by David's monstrously growled vocals, with Trey crafting overwhelming and claustrophobic guitar riffs, and finally Pete "Commando" with his military drumming that weaves intricate patterns at unheard-of speeds. There is no respite throughout the songs, starting with the opener "Rapture" that kicks off the massacre. more
