The memory of the lamented Chuck Schuldiner.
It was December 13, 2001, the day when the life of the great Chuck Schuldiner was cut short, after the agony of a long illness. A very sad day for every music lover, in general.
From that day, the last memory of the great DEATH is precisely this album.
This record, besides being fantastic musically, is the last work of a musical career studded with many successes, by the band that created death metal. It holds a strong meaning for all DEATH fans and lovers of the genre. In fact, right during the recordings of this album, Chuck fell ill with the terrible disease that forced him to leave all his friends, fans, and loved ones.
The hope of everyone is that from "up there" the great Chuck continues to play his guitar and continues to sing death metal, as only he knew how, thanks to his voice, sometimes sharp like a "hysterical and devilish woman" and at other times a warm and deep voice that ...moments... and it pierces your brain.
As for the album, nothing to say. A huge death metal masterpiece.
Great performances on drums by Christy; just listen to the first track "Scavenger of Human Sorrow" and right away you understand what kind of album you're dealing with. Also wonderful is the cover of the legendary JUDAS PRIEST, "Painkiller," where Schuldiner gives his best.
The guitars scratch perfectly and in the right way; with the usual distinctive low-tuned sound, due to death-type tuning!!
An album that's both fierce and powerful at the same time!! An amazing album, an absolute must-have... also in memory of the great and lamented CHUCK... unfortunately in this cruel world, it's always the best who leave us.
"UNIQUE in its genre!"
"Absolutely indispensable, every metalhead who loves to call themselves such must have this album."
Death... the name speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
This album is full of masterpieces... complete reverence for the best metal band that has ever existed.
Ladies and Gentlemen, speaking ill of Death is impossible, and the most natural thing is that these guys have churned out masterpieces.
And so, this masterpiece is concluded, and thus the career of Death... has written among the most beautiful and intriguing pages in death metal.
Chuck could not have left a better tangible work of his great contribution to past, present, and future metal.
'Voice Of The Soul' is an instrumental gem... no one, not even the most extreme dance music listeners, will find ugly or unlistenable.
Have you ever experienced that feeling when you’re faced with something… whose grandeur takes your breath away because you realize that some people can truly be defined as giants?
Each single track manages to exude emotions from every note and especially from a voice, that of Chuck, which will remain… in the history of world heavy metal.
