David Peel & The Lower East Side

David Peel & The Lower East Side emerged on New York's streets in the late 1960s, recording raw, lo-fi protest and counterculture songs. Their 1968 debut Have A Marijuana was recorded live on the streets; The American Revolution (1970) became associated with the hippie counterculture and the band later worked with John Lennon and Yoko Ono on The Pope Smokes Dope (1972).
