Don't try to understand "Mulholland Drive", but travel through it and delve into yet another disturbing and fascinating story created by Lynch.
Get excited by the kisses between Watts and Harring, one of the most sexually engaging scenes for me ever. Masturbate, if you wish, as Watts did after the betrayal of her friend - companion - alter ego. Be moved by listening to and relistening to "Llorando" thinking about the love that was, that is, or that will be.
Don't try to understand "Mulholland Drive", but submit to its plot with all its twists and turns. Never mind the possible meanings, official or not, everyone can give the interpretation they want, just like when you admire a painting.
As far as I'm concerned, I experienced a deep and painful love story, one that penetrated my soul more than any other and that, even today, years after seeing the film in the cinema, still evokes emotions that are difficult to describe. A mix of beauty and melancholy. A love so visceral that it can only be broken by death. A love of an intensity never seen, and one that perhaps only Cronenberg with his Madame Butterfly has been able to come close to in terms of power.
Listen to the soundtrack by Angelo Badalamenti, which accompanies and guides Lynch’s film perfectly as always. Let yourself go to the beauty and sensuality of Harring's lips, a woman for whom you could sell your soul to the devil. Identify with Watts and remain helpless and defenseless in her presence, but ready to do anything not to lose her. Anything.
Don't try to understand Mulholland Drive.
