The Dama is a musical project born from the meeting between singer-songwriter Barbara Schera Vanoli and drummer Pierfrancesco Tarantino, who, with the help of guitarist Cristian Comizzoli, bassist Roberto Gelli, and keyboardist Danilo Di Lorenzo, manage to produce and compose their debut EP containing 5 splendid tracks. The stylistic and compositional vigor of the Italian quintet fundamentally travels on the wave of female metal, manifesting through a meticulous production and evident professionalism in an excursion of precious melancholy hidden among texts full of passion and sophistication. A journey immersed in distant horizons, balancing between romance and frenzy, describes a path that remains suspended on the enchanting threshold between poetry and soul, transmitting sensations covered by a mystical veil and rich in refined pathos.
From the opening bars of "Regina D'Inverno," the maturity, beauty, and elegance immersed in the sound of Dama catch the eye, a sound that remains in balance between pop-rock and metal, demonstrating solid roots in the grammar of notes tinged with gothic and arcane shades. The following track, "Ombre," is the diamond tip of the entire EP, flowing gracefully into a kind of languid dance, exalting the listener's soul in a dream invaded by inexhaustible joy. A melody that strikes and focuses especially on the guidelines of the finest metal. "Aprile" is the song that composes the next chapter, a sweet and melancholic track rich in harmony, a sound that nurtures and muses in silence, stripped of its arcane solitude and embellished by the noble touch of singer-songwriter Barbara, who decorates and paints emotional keys filled with melancholy, bliss... The romantic poetry of the lyrics, which help make this work an extraordinary piece, only reiterates the graceful sensitivity of the singer.
"Eliot" and "Your Winter" (the latter being the English version of "Regina D'Inverno") represent the union between harmony and sweetness; they are evocative ballads that convincingly close what, in my opinion, is a rare demo, difficult to match nowadays. Deep, enchanting, well-produced, and, above all, endowed with a unique refinement, since most of the lyrics are written in their native language. Therefore, honor and respect to this band that has managed to hit the mark, wandering like raw passion tinged with elegance, literally caressing your soul and making you a slave to its romanticism.
I hope, at this point, that the Dama can gather as much support as possible from the audience, and that their art can (as has happened in my case) penetrate the hearts of those who love to listen to music with their hearts.
