Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Thomas Bangalter (Fr): Videoclip of "Technologic", Daft Punk (Fr) from "Human After All" (2005)
"Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail it, upgrade it"
We are on the last steps of the pyramid of evolution: rapid exchanges allow us to own everything. One click and the whole world enters our homes, another and we immediately send it out. We have the privilege of choice.
Evolution? Exchange? World? Privilege? Choice?
Involution. Stagnation. Crypt. Need. Prison.
The more information we receive, the more we become dependent on it. It's never enough: the need to possess will eventually consume us, turning us into powerless and skeletal puppets. Everything we were has become the reflection of a screen. The synthesis of new drugs does not occur through alembics but in cold silicon circuits.
The dream of a world united under the same pyramid is coming true but the privilege of truly enjoying the results will be destined for a few.
"Load it, note it, increase it, compress it, hit it, work on it, erase it quickly"
The French duo has never explained the symbolism of the robot and the pyramid and has limited themselves to a "this little robot inside a pyramid and we thought it would be fun to put the two of us in the bigger one". The video was created inspired by the stage Daft Punk was using in the contemporary Tour and filmed directly by the two.
