I don't know how many people have had the luck and opportunity to listen to Daft Punk live, but for all those who missed out, here’s a chance to understand how these two Frenchmen know how to animate a crowd. So, are you familiar with Daft Punk and their first masterpiece, "Homework"?
Consider that this "Alive 1997" contains (virtually) only three of the tracks from "Homework", namely "Da Funk", "Rollin' and Scratchin'", and "Alive", yet it lasts 45'33''...

"Da Funk" opens the live journey with sounds almost faithful to the original, but after a few minutes, it begins to intensify more and more, leading the listener towards new forms and sounds... a rush with some pauses just to remind what was being listened to and off again towards new orgiastic mixes that open the doors to an extended hypnotic and twisted "Rollin' & Scratchin'", concluding with a richer and more vivid version of "Alive" compared to the original.
The whole album is characterized, except for some reprises, by an energizing, intense, hypnotic rhythm with a great party atmosphere that inexorably drags the listener to great cerebral and physical speeds. An excellent CD for dancing but also simply to listen to for fans and newcomers alike.
