And so the legend ends!
For a long time, I have wondered why a successful band like them radically changed their genre. They had found the right formula between glam metal and progressive with the addition of European features.
Midnight is no longer the voice I remember, and Dana Burnell is out of the group. It's true that the early '90s were a period of transition with the advent of grunge "Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc.." and the rock'n'roll revolution of the "Guns & Roses"; but changing so drastically was too risky for them, and in the end, they broke up, returning for a supposed reunion in 1999 with the album "Astronomica" without that monster Midnight.
"Strange and Beautiful" is a bland album and even sounds too pop-rock. They seem like a bad copy of the "Guns & Roses" or the latest "Led Zeppelin". The songs are too catchy and even go soft. The guitars remain as they once were, but it's not enough... the legend is dead!
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you like the "Guns"! The noteworthy songs are: "Love and Dreams", "Song for Angels", "Deep Inside Your Heart". Flat songs that don't hurt, rather they are the classic sappy tunes for your girls!
Meh!
