The Crash Box originated in Milan from young people frequenting an occupied building that would later become the well-known VIRUS.
After the first cassette (of which there were 200 copies) simply titled "Crash Box", in 1984 this 7" was released which, due to subsequent lineup changes, bureaucratic issues (and even an American tour planned with the naivety of adolescence but ended in 3 forgettable dates), remains in my opinion the gem of their discography.
6 tracks that deviate from the typically Italian punk sounds of the period in favor of a more melodic-HC Californian approach (to which Crash Box were clearly inspired).
The striking title-track in the opening is very beautiful, followed by the equally engaging "In Trappola" where a nice solo enhances a fast and rhythmic piece, but melodic in the vocal parts.
The voice becomes hoarse in "Sangue," a track that also features nice guitar phrases uncommon in Italian hardcore of the '80s.
The songs all last around 2 minutes, and I believe the strong point is precisely the ability to combine the structure of compositions and punk-HC sounds with a melodic line; an example is the splendid "Troppi Rimpianti" which strongly brings to mind their compatriots, KINA.
A well-made record, one of those "true" bands who believed in the music they took around our peninsula in their vans.
