I never thought that our memories could have a shape and a color, even a name… children of a red ball of yarn and a few centimeters tall, kept alive by a very thin and unstable thread tied to their waists.
Starting from our childhood home, we retrace and rediscover sensations and experiences linked to our dearest affections through various photographs, witnesses of different moods: from a joyful day at the sea to a candid mountain excursion, with all of Scandinavia as a backdrop. The incredible graphic component, in fact, facilitates the immersion and interaction of the player in an extraordinarily real world with an attention to detail that is nothing short of obsessive. All this is accompanied by a redundant ethnic soundtrack that does not always match the various game dynamics, at least not as much as the sound effects, from the lapping of the sea to various thunder storms and gusts of wind, or even when jumping on snowfields.
For being essentially a puzzle video game, the gaming experience is quite simple, perhaps too simple; the puzzles or obstacles are not that insurmountable and do not require an unknown amount of talent. Maybe it's because memory is always childlike, at 80 years old amazed by a butterfly that flits in the air, first fearing it, then wanting to catch it regardless of the consequences. The difficulty is injected into the infinite allegory, in the strength to manage to carry the last languid flame left in a blanket of sleet.
In retracing one's life through images, it is important to never lose the yarn, at the cost of physical and mental collapse, and in case of errors along the way, one must go back and retrace their steps differently to find less tortuous paths… even when the thread breaks.
Each person, during the unwinding of their red thread, carries the weight of those tears that cause one to bow their head and kneel, along with those that, bringing joy, make one dream.
<<Love creates bonds, like the threads of balls of yarn.
Like balls of yarn, these bonds are fragile and can become tangled.
But with the right care and attention, they manage to reach everywhere.>>
